Rental car insurance rates for New York City, Boston, and other cities to drop

The latest round of national rental car insurance cuts have caused big price increases for consumers nationwide.

But here in New York, a city with a high proportion of renters, some homeowners have been paying higher rates than others.

The median rental rate in Manhattan is $3,400, and in Brooklyn it’s $4,000.

A large number of renters in New Jersey and the surrounding areas pay more than $4 an hour.
