The NFL has announced its first nationwide pet coverage for the 2018 season, according to the Associated Press.
The league, which has been embroiled in an insurance scandal, has added pet insurance for players, coaches and other members of the organization.
The coverage comes at a time when some players have expressed concerns about the impact the insurance may have on their pets.
The coverage covers pets up to a maximum of five years old.
The cost is $300 per year per pet.
The policy expires after two years, with the option to renew.
