Farm insurance agents in California have been struggling to get the word out to consumers about their benefits and plans.
The California Farm Bureau said in a recent letter to members that it has seen an uptick in the number of queries since the Farm Bureau launched its Farm Insurance Marketplaces website in February.
The California Farm Insurance Association (CAIFA) and Farm Bureau are leading efforts to improve the information consumers receive about farm insurance.
CAIFA president and CEO Jeff Jansen said the agency has received more than 1,000 inquiries from California consumers and is working to increase its outreach efforts in the state.CAIFA President and CEO Jansen told ABC News that the Farm Insurance Bureau’s website and Farm Insurance Agents program is helping consumers find a qualified farm insurance company.
The farm insurance industry is currently in crisis, said Jansen, and he hopes the Farm Association’s efforts will help farmers find qualified insurance agents and help them get their insurance plans through the new marketplace.
